Rechargeable Red Laser Pens for Site Work & Talks

Rechargeable red laser pointers for work indoors and close by

A red dot is calm, clear and familiar. On a projected slide, a whiteboard or a machine in a workshop it is all you need, and it is easy on the eye on a bright screen. Our rechargeable red laser pointers put that red dot in a tough aluminium Pro body with a Li-ion battery and charger, ready for daily use without buying batteries.

The R1 Pro is the full-size model with an 18650 cell and two safety keys. The R2 Pro is the compact one, 11.2 cm long, on a 16340 cell. Both are class 2, up to 1 mW – the class intended for sale to the public in the UK.

Typical buyers are surveyors, roofers, facilities managers, trainers and teachers: people who point at things for a living and want a laser that survives a toolbox. The green, red and violet Pro set is also listed here.

R1 Pro or R2 Pro?

What red can and cannot do

Indicatively a red dot is visible to 30 m indoors, approx. 30–50 m in daylight on a shaded surface, approx. 100–150 m at dusk and approx. 300–500 m in the dark. That covers rooms, halls, yards and gardens comfortably. For a flock of gulls on a warehouse roof or the stars over a field, a rechargeable green laser reaches much further. Our long-range laser pointer page compares the colours.

Good to know

• Both models run on Li-ion cells; spares are in batteries and charger.
• Prefer AAA batteries? The M1 red laser pen is in our red laser pointer range.
• Giving talks? See laser pointers for presentations.

Both red Pro lasers ship with the battery and charger in the box, so they are ready to use as soon as the cell is charged. Orders placed before 16:00 on a working day leave the same day.

Whatever the colour: never aim at eyes, vehicles, aircraft or reflective surfaces – see laser pointer safety.
